And so the two communities – LIS and computer science – find themselves in similar places, working on ontologies for sharing data between a variety of knowledge organisation systems to make better use of the Web. One has expertise in creating and using ontologies, the other in formalising their expression, and there is much that they can learn from one another. [Available in word and pdf.]

We are exploring how to make the vocabularies developed in the library and cultural heritage domains more useful in a web environment in our terminology services project.
