Microsoft and internationalization

Operating in an international environment raises many issues. Of course, this is a big factor for OCLC. There is an interesting article in the Guardian about some of the issues that Microsoft has run into through a lack of awareness of particular local political or geographic contexts.

In a frank assessment of the company’s problems in trying to be a global player without offending local sensibilities, Tom Edwards, its senior geopolitical strategist, said employees’ lack of basic geography was to blame.
