An interesting story about the University of Derby has been picked up in various places. The University runs a course for games programmers. It had 108 applicants – all men! They are now trying to find ways of recruiting more women applicants.

‘He’ is lecturer John Sear who is interviewed for this BBC story.

The university wanted to crack the “chicken and egg” problem of boys writing games that boys liked playing, which in turn attracted boys into the industry. [BBC NEWS | UK | Education | Women wanted as games programmers]
