etodolac.pngI had a tooth implant today and was prescribed Etodolac for pain relief. Having been in some pain for a while now ๐Ÿ˜‰ I was prompted to find out something about Etodolac and turned to Google. A search brought up something interesting: the ability to ‘refine’ results based on offered categories.
A quick check showed that this was something that was rumored to be associated with the possible imminent arrival of Google Health.
A couple of interesting things though. First is the unsurprising observation that people already turn to Google for health information. There are several links to the following newspaper report of some work looking at health information behaviors.

A survey of 1,000 people found that 12 per cent turn first to Google. Fewer consult family and friends, the media or medical encyclopaedias when faced with a medical problem. [More people consult Google over health – Britain – Times Online]

Second, it is another example of the work that goes on behind the scenes to present results. Not just a simple search box …
