[![wikibooks.png](https://www.lorcandempsey.net/content/images/wordpress/lorcan/wikibooks.png)](https://www.wikibooks.org/?ref=lorcandempsey.net)I had not come across [Wikibooks](https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Main%5FPage?ref=lorcandempsey.net) before, which is a collection of textbook ‘modules’ created in the Wikipedia model. Wikibooks is one of the [Wikimedia](https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Home?ref=lorcandempsey.net) family.
Naturally enough, coverage is still intermittent. I do not know what sort of momentum it has picked up.
There is a skeleton – if little more – in place for [Library and information science](https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikiversity:School%5Fof%5FLibrary%5Fand%5FInformation%5FScience?ref=lorcandempsey.net). (This is as part of the proposed [Wikiversity](https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikiversity?ref=lorcandempsey.net), ‘a wiki-based learning community’. One aspect of Wikiversity proposals sees the development of a range of learning materials, which would use, but also go beyond, the materials being developed in Wikibooks.)
From the Wikimedia home page:

> Imagine a world in which every single person is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge. That’s what we’re doing. \[[Home – Wikimedia Foundation](https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Home?ref=lorcandempsey.net)\]

YAGWALLM – yet another group with a library-like mission.
