Having said that, I did not come across our (current) favorite children’s author, Mairi Hederwick, until several years later when I was looking in the bookstore in Edinburgh Airport for something to bring home with me on a trip. [*Katie Morag and the two grandmothers*](https://worldcatlibraries.org/wcpa/isbn/0316354007?ref=lorcandempsey.net) was the first of many of these delightfully drawn stories to pass through the house.
I thought of this as I looked at [The ESSL Children’s Literature Blog](https://www.library.uiuc.edu/blog/esslchildlit/?ref=lorcandempsey.net), one of [several](https://www.library.uiuc.edu/blog/?ref=lorcandempsey.net) from UIUC libraries.
Paula Kaufman has had a web presence on scholarly communications issues [for a while](https://blog.oclc.org/lorcand/archives/000162.html?ref=lorcandempsey.net) – I notice from the list that this has now also been [bloggified](https://www.library.uiuc.edu/blog/scholcomm/?ref=lorcandempsey.net).
