[Tony Hey](https://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~ajgh/?ref=lorcandempsey.net) who has been overseeing the development of the UK e-science core program has just been appointed Vice President for technical computing at Microsoft.
I have just read his review of John S. Rigden’s [*Einstein 1905: the standard of greatness*](https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0674015444/102-7019480-9378519?v=glance&ref=lorcandempsey.net) in the [Times Higher](https://www.thes.co.uk/main.aspx?ref=lorcandempsey.net), July 1 2005.
The review contains the following:

> In September 1907, on being asked to review the recent developments in relativity, Einstein replied: “I must … note that I am not in a position to acquaint myself with everthing published on this topic, because the library is closed during my free time.”
