ARL has just released a report on patterns of collection of non-US books in member libraries based on an analysis of their holdings in Worldcat \[[pdf](https://www.arl.org/bm~doc/grn%5Fglobal%5Fbook.pdf?ref=lorcandempsey.net)\]

> The report “Changing Global Book Collection Patterns in ARL Libraries” was prepared for the Global Resources Network (GRN) by: Mary E. Jackson, Auto-Graphics, Inc. (formerly Association of Research Libraries); Lynn Silipigni Connaway, OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc.; Edward T. O’Neill, OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc.; and Eudora Loh, University of California, Los Angeles. \[[Association of Research Libraries :: Report Documents Changes in Global Collection Patterns in ARL Libraries](https://www.arl.org/news/pr/grn%5Fglobal%5Fbook%5Fpr.shtml?ref=lorcandempsey.net)\]

Main findings are the low levels of overlap between ARL collections and the progressive decline in volume of acquisition of non-US titles.
The [WorldMap](https://www.oclc.org/research/researchworks/worldmap/prototype.htm?ref=lorcandempsey.net) was developed in association with this project.
