# Lightweight service composition

Science Library Pad helpfully [pulls together](https://scilib.typepad.com/science%5Flibrary%5Fpad/2006/02/jon%5Fudells%5Flibr.html?ref=lorcandempsey.net) and comments on several pieces by Jon Udell on the orchestration of lightweight services in the browser. *Lightweight service composition* is Udell’s phrase for the growing ability to easily combine functionality from different machine interfaces within natural user workflows. He is looking at working with Amazon, library catalogs and our [xISBN](https://blog.oclc.org/lorcand/archives/000932.html?ref=lorcandempsey.net) service to tie together services which enhance the functionality available to him in the browser.
