Here is a very simple schematic for thinking about some library discovery issues, based around direct discovery, indirect discovery, and disclosure.
We have:
Information providers. This is a very loose category meant to suggest
The flow: This is an even looser category which is meant to evoke the multiple flows within which people find and use information resources. Think of Google, Twitter, FaceBook, the course management system, the social reading site, the reading list, and so on.
